Defensive lineman Marcus Griffin of Bellevue High School is one of the top 2014 prospects in the State of Washington. Washington State jumped into his recruitment early as they extended him his first scholarship offer in February. Griffin has since added offers from Colorado State, Wyoming and Idaho.
Griffin spent this past weekend on the Palouse with friend Reggie Long (Skyline High School), taking in a practice, chatting with coaches and exploring campus. So what part did he enjoy most?
"There wasn't just one thing that stood out, I just loved everything!", said Griffin. "I loved the conversations I had with the coaching staff, the players and the trainers. Everyone is working together towards a common goal, as a family. I had a great time and it felt like home to me."
After taking in Saturday's practice, Griffin was impressed with what he saw on the Wazzu defensive line. "All of the defensive linemen technique was excellent, just about flawless. They were quick off the ball and had very few mental errors."
Griffin will be back in Pullman Thursday, visiting with his father through the weekend.
In addition to his four offers, Griffin is getting frequent interest from California and Arizona State. Washington State's Coach Eric Russell is running his recruitment for the Cougs.
