Cal and Boise State are looking at Griffin the hardest.
Washington State got a bit of bad news on Sunday afternoon. Top rated defensive tackle commit Marcus Griffin decided to open things up.
The good news is the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder is still considering the Cougs.
Griffin offered some quick notes on his decision.
"I just needed to open things up," Griffin said. "I just wanted to look around at these schools with an open mind. I'm still going to take my official visit to Washington State in January."
The three-star said he is looking at Boise State and Cal. Notre Dame also made new contact, but things have just started with the Irish.
Griffin has not taken any of his allotted five official visits.
"I'm open to whoever comes and shows interest. I'm open to everyone and ready to look at things with an open mind."
